The Pyrotechnic Article (Safety) Regulations 2010 will be in force from 4th July 2010.

These regulations implement Directive 2007/03 regarding the placing on the market of pyrotechnic articles including fireworks, and specialised articles such as gas generators  used in car air bags.

These regulations are to ensure high levels of protection of health and safety for consumers and professional end users.

The regulations deal with items such as:

The safety of obligations of manufacturers, labelling, enforcement actions, prohibitions on supply and requirements regarding, prohibitions, restrictions and withdrawals and the bodies that will perform independant checks on conformity.
